Job summary

APA Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Project to support the Gas Operations East team in Brisbane or Fyshwick (ACT). You will provide technical leadership during all project phases, ensuring designs meet operational requirements and engineering standards.

The role requires mentoring junior engineers and coordinating multidisciplinary teams. Reporting to the Team Lead Project Delivery NSW, you will collaborate with managers, design teams, operations and contractors to ensure

Qualifications

Strong engineering background with experience in managing engineering design activities and project delivery.
Proven leadership with ability to mentor and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong planning and organisational skills with ability to manage budgets and schedules.
Proactive problem-solving with focus on safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

Oversee engineering design activities ensuring alignment with project scope and standards.
Develop and manage design schedules, drawings, specifications and documentation with approvals.
Monitor progress, budgets and timelines; identify risks and resolve issues.
Collaborate with Project Managers, design teams, operations and contractors for coordination.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers while promoting safety and quality.
