Job summary

APA Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Project to join the Gas Operations East team in Brisbane or Fyshwick. You will oversee engineering design activities, supervise project phases, and ensure designs meet operational requirements and standards.

Reporting to the Team Lead Project Delivery NSW, you will mentor junior engineers, manage schedules, budgets, and collaborate with project managers, operations, and contractors to deliver on time and safely.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background with demonstrated experience in managing engineering design activities and project delivery.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee engineering design activities, ensuring all work meets project scope, operational requirements and relevant engineering standards.
• Develop and manage design schedules, drawings, specifications and technical documentation, ensuring appropriate approvals are obtained.
• Monitor project progress, budgets and timelines, proactively identifying risks and resolving issues to ensure successful delivery.
• Collaborate with Project Managers, design teams, operations, contractors and service providers to ensure effective project coordination.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to junior engineers while promoting a strong safety and quality culture.
