Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead and contribute to full lifecycle mining projects across iron ore, gold, lithium and base metals in Western Australia. You will deliver piping, pumping, and process plant infrastructure expertise and provide technical leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

With 8+ years in mining or industrial delivery, you will engage with clients, peers, and stakeholders to ensure fit-for-purpose outcomes while supporting brownfield and sustaining capital

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8+ years' experience in mining, mineral processing or industrial projects.
• Strong consulting experience across studies, detailed design and project delivery.
• Knowledge of pipelines, pumping systems, slurry handling and process plant infrastructure.
• Exposure to materials handling systems, process equipment and piping design.
• Strong understanding of procurement, vendor management and construction support activities.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Chartered status or progress toward Chartership will be highly regarded.

• Develop engineering deliverables including reports, specifications, calculations and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with process, civil, structural, electrical and project delivery teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver practical, fit-for-purpose outcomes.
• Support project planning, risk management, cost estimation and engineering governance activities.
• Contribute to successful delivery of brownfield and sustaining capital projects in operating mining environments.
• Mentor and support developing engineers while fostering a strong engineering culture.

What you’ll do:

This is an opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from studies and concept development through to detailed design, procurement, construction support and commissioning for Tier 1 mining clients. Working within our Mining & Metals team, you'll lead and contribute to a broad range of sustaining capital and brownfield projects across iron ore, gold, lithium, base metals and mineral processing operations.

About you:
