Job summary

GEARS Mining is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and documentation of equipment specifications, test proposed solutions, and present proposals to managers and clients. You will travel to sites nationally and internationally to oversee implementation.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, 5+ years in an Australian engineering company, and strong SolidWorks skills with FEA and hydraulics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering (Washington Accord)
• Engineer Australia membership or ability to obtain Professional Engineer (MIEAust)
• 5+ years experience with Australian engineering company
• Experience in 3D modelling, SolidWorks, FEA, and hydraulics
• Strong written and verbal communication; capable of presentations
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office and SolidWorks
• Leadership experience is valued

Responsibilities

• Interpret project scope and establish design deliverables.
• Assist in development of design drawings and calculations.
• Maintain project documentation and implement control procedures.
• Assist control systems with programming and documentation.
• Support tender development with estimating team.
• Ensure safe design practices and meet customer requirements.
