Job summary

GR Engineering Services Limited (GRES) seeks a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our engineering team in Australia. You will lead a multidisciplined group delivering projects in the mining and minerals industry, primarily from our Ascot office with occasional site visits across Australia, including Port Macquarie.

The role requires a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants, with strong leadership and client-facing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, recognised by Engineers Australia.
• Minimum of 10 years technical and practical experience in design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants.
• Knowledge of design theories, principles and practices including conveyors, pumps and equipment in mineral processing.
• Able to provide input into conceptual layouts and designs through to detailed designs and drawings.
• Knowledge of current engineering design standards and practices.
• High level of communication, written, planning and organisation skills.
• Proficient with typical engineering software, particularly Excel and Word.
• Experience in both wet & dry plant.
• Hands-on leader capable of leading a multi-skilled project team.
• Strong communication/interpersonal skills at all levels.
• Current National Police clearance; White Card; Australian working rights.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project team to achieve design budgets and schedules, including technical direction and coordination.
• Assist lead designers in developing layouts and conceptual designs.
• Complete detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.
• Perform technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation.
• Prepare and review data sheets, scopes and tender evaluations for equipment procurement.
• Manage internal and client design reviews and deliver outcomes.
• Ensure design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose considering cost, constructability, operability and maintainability.
• Support site construction activities remotely and collaborate with commissioning teams on site.
