Job summary

DRA Global is seeking a Lead Mechanical Designer to join our Brisbane CBD core design team. You will lead multi-disciplinary design activities for EPCM projects, review mechanical drawings and calculations, and drive 3D modelling using CAD software while ensuring compliance with codes and project requirements.

Ideal candidates bring 15+ years of mining-related EPCM experience, proficiency in Advanced Steel and Plant 3D, with MicroStation desirable.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Engineering (Desirable).
• 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with Advanced Steel and Plant 3D; MicroStation desirable.
• Experience in mining and mineral processing within an EPCM model.
• Able to work autonomously to deadlines and communicate clearly.
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary design teams on EPCM projects.
• Review detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations for mechanical components and systems.
• Utilise CAD design software to create 2D and 3D models.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements and constraints.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers and project managers.
• Participate in design review meetings and provide technical support to resolve design issues.
• Perform quality check reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
• Maintain accurate records of design revisions, modifications, and approvals.
• Provide regular updates to project stakeholders and management.
