Job summary

Edison Smart® is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design activities for large-scale data centre developments. You will drive cooling system strategy, review and approve designs, and collaborate with consultants, contractors and internal teams to ensure reliable, scalable infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Significant mechanical design experience in data centres or critical infrastructure.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC and building services standards.
• Experience producing or reviewing mechanical design documentation and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage mechanical engineering activities across major data centre developments.
• Review, develop and approve mechanical designs for critical cooling and infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership across mechanical systems including chilled water, cooling towers, chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, pumps and heat exchangers.
• Review design documentation, calculations, specs and submissions.
• Collaborate with consultants, contractors, suppliers and internal project teams.
• Ensure designs meet project requirements, standards and reliability targets.
• Identify design risks and opportunities for optimisation across the project lifecycle.
• Support procurement and technical evaluation of mechanical equipment and systems.
• Attend design reviews and project meetings with stakeholders.
• Provide engineering support during construction, testing and commissioning.
