Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Principal Mechanical Engineer to shape the next generation of high-performance Data Centre facilities across Australia and New Zealand. You will lead complex mechanical design, mentor multidisciplinary teams, and influence the strategy for mission-critical infrastructure.

The role requires extensive experience in data centres and related facilities, Chartered Engineer status preferred, and a track record in delivering reliable, efficient long-term operations for hyperscale

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering complex mechanical projects in data centres or mission-critical facilities.
• Proven experience leading multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong understanding of mission-critical mechanical systems.
• Experience working with hyperscale clients, developers or infrastructure owners.
• Demonstrated commercial awareness and client relationship capability.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Chartered Engineer or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex mechanical design and provide technical leadership across hyperscale and mission-critical facilities in AU and NZ.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams from concept through commissioning delivering innovative, practical solutions.
• Help clients achieve reliability, efficiency, and long-term operational performance.
• Shape client relationships, grow market presence, mentor future leaders and influence future facility design.
