Job summary

CPC Engineering is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Drawing Office in Western Australia on a permanent basis, with a Senior Mechanical Designer role also available. You will contribute to the design and delivery of major mineral processing projects across gold, copper and nickel operations.

You will design mechanical layouts, develop equipment schemes and create 3D models with Autodesk, while coordinating with process, structural, piping and electrical teams to ensure seamless

Qualifications

• Trade or tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering or drafting.
• Experience in mechanical design within minerals processing or resources sectors.
• Strong knowledge of Autodesk and layout drafting.

Responsibilities

• Design and drafting of mechanical equipment layouts and general arrangements for minerals processing plants.
• Develop mechanical layouts, including crushers, screens, conveyors, flotation and grinding circuits.
• Produce 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk; coordinate with disciplines to ensure integration.
• Maintain equipment lists, datasheets and material take-offs; support site surveys and as-built documentation.

CPC Engineering is a multi-disciplined engineering design, construction and project management company with a strong reputation for delivering professional, practical and cost-effective services to the resource industry.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer and a Senior Mechanical Designer to join our Drawing Office on a permanent, staff basis, contract is on offer if that is the preference.

This is an excellent opportunity for Designers with a strong background in minerals processing to contribute to the design and delivery of major projects across gold, copper and nickel operations.

The Mechanical Designer will cover:

• Design and drafting of mechanical equipment layouts, general arrangements and structural steel interfaces for minerals processing plants
• Development of mechanical and equipment layouts, including crushing, screening, conveying, flotation and grinding circuits
• Preparation of 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk
• Coordination with process, structural, piping and electrical disciplines to ensure design integration
• Producing and maintaining equipment lists, datasheets and material take-offs
• Supporting site surveys, brownfield tie-ins and as-built documentation

About you:

• Trade or tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Drafting or a related discipline
• Proven experience in mechanical design within the minerals processing or resources sector
• Strong working knowledge of Autodesk and general arrangement/layout drafting
• Solid understanding of mechanical equipment (crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, tanks) and their integration into plant design
• Experience with brownfield and greenfield projects highly regarded
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
• For the Senior role: demonstrated experience leading design packages and mentoring junior staff
