Zurich Insurance Group in Australia is seeking a Senior Marine Underwriter to deepen our NSW/ACT General Insurance portfolio, handling complex cargo and transit risks with a focus on profitable growth and broker collaboration.

You will leverage data, pricing standards and governance to deliver superior outcomes, mentor teammates, and contribute to our digital and risk-led transformation across the NSW/ACT market.

Qualifications

• Extensive commercial insurance underwriting experience with marine cargo and transit expertise.
• Proven ability to manage portfolios toward profitability, retention and growth.
• Strong broker-facing negotiation and business development skills in an intermediated market.
• Ability to coach and mentor underwriting colleagues and share referrals.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal Marine risks to achieve profitable growth across the NSW and ACT portfolio
• Build and strengthen broker relationships to generate quality new business opportunities
• Apply underwriting appetite, pricing standards and governance consistently across decisions
• Structure appropriate risk solutions for complex cargo and transit exposures
• Provide technical guidance and referral support to underwriters and distribution colleagues
• Leverage underwriting data, systems and AI-enabled tools to enhance decision-making and service delivery
