Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC in Redmond, WA is seeking a Senior Manufacturing and Automation Engineer to develop and scale aerospace hardware manufacturing. You will lead process development, automation integration, and production readiness to meet cost, quality, and safety goals.

The role requires hands-on expertise with robotics, PLCs, motor controls, and machine vision, driving scalable production solutions across PCBA, battery packs, and LRUs.

Qualifications

• Experience in developing functional specifications and verification/test procedures.
• Bachelor's or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related STEM field.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering, process development, automation, or production equipment.
• Hands-on experience with automation technologies such as PLCs, robotics, and vision systems.
• Experience in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and industrialize PCBA, battery pack and assembly processes.
• Design, implement, and integrate automated production systems with robotics and controls.
• Lead equipment design, tooling, and fixture development for automated stations.
• Apply PFMEA, DOE, SPC and capability analysis to improve yields.
• Develop strategies to scale production and reduce cycle times.
• Lead equipment acceptance, qualification, and production release.
• Drive root cause investigations and sustainable corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Design, Quality, Test and suppliers to improve manufacturability.
