Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking Product Design Engineers to contribute to the development of electromechanical systems for the Amazon LEO program. You will lead mechanical design, component selection, testing, and optimization for high-volume production, collaborating with cross-functional teams and executives to resolve complex design challenges.

The role requires practical experience in 3D CAD, tolerance analysis, and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience in product design
• Experience with high-volume manufacturing and assembly processes (injection, thermoforming, metal, etc.)
• Experience performing tolerance analysis and statistical techniques

Responsibilities

• PD Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) for multiple system components (housings, PCBs, thermal components)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve electromechanical problems
• Identify design constraints and priorities
• Demonstrate strong mechanical fundamentals through design decisions
• Deliver robust, scalable, and cost-effective designs
• Communicate concisely with PD team members, cross functional teams, and executives
• Maintain customer focus when solving ambiguous problems
• Create scalable solutions while addressing tactical challenges
