Job summary

Latrobe City Council is seeking a Manager Sustainability and Environment to lead the Sustainability and Environment Department, including Emergency Management, Environment, Landfill Services and Sustainability functions.

You will shape long‑term strategies, deliver service improvements, and provide expert advice to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team while building high‑performing teams and strong partnerships with government, industry and community to deliver a sustainable future for Latrobe

Qualifications

Knowledge of emergency management, environment, landfill and sustainability services.
Understanding of Victorian Government policy and strategy context for waste and landfill services.
Project management skills, capabilities, and experience are a requirement of this role.
Demonstrated strong team leadership and management skills to bring teams together.
Passion for driving sustainability, environmental stewardship and organisational excellence.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage Council's Sustainability and Environment Department, including Emergency Management, Environment, Landfill Services and Sustainability functions.
Develop and deliver long-term strategies, business plans and service improvements that align with Council's objectives.
Provide expert strategic advice to the CEO and Executive Leadership Team on environmental matters.
Drive organisational performance through financial management, project delivery, and continuous improvement.
Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, industry bodies, Traditional Owners and stakeholders.
