Job summary

Latrobe City Council is seeking a Manager Sustainability and Environment to lead the Infrastructure and Sustainability leadership team and drive the long-term environmental agenda across the region.

You will oversee Emergency Management, Environment, Landfill Services and Sustainability, delivering strategies, programs, and services that benefit the community now and for future generations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of emergency management, environment, landfill and sustainability services, principles, and functions.
• Understanding of policy and strategy context for waste and landfill services.
• Project management skills and experience.
• Preparation of accurate project documentation and reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Council's Sustainability and Environment Department, including Emergency Management, Environment, Landfill Services and Sustainability functions.
• Develop and deliver long-term strategies, business plans and service improvements that align with Council's objectives and community vision.
• Provide expert strategic advice to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Council on complex environmental, sustainability and emergency management matters.
• Drive organisational performance through effective financial management, business planning, project delivery, and continuous improvement.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government agencies, industry bodies, Traditional Owners, community organisations, and key stakeholders.
• Lead, inspire and develop high-performing teams while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration.
