Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Senior Manager for Group Credit Structuring (Regional & Agribusiness) in Melbourne. The role includes people leadership and direct report mentorship.

You will apply advanced financial analysis, negotiate with customers and stakeholders, and guide risk teams through rehabilitation, restructuring or exit strategies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bring business, commercial or agribusiness credit experience, with agribusiness exposure highly regarded.
• Apply advanced financial analysis and credit assessment skills to make sound risk decisions.
• Communicate clearly and confidently, explaining complex issues in writing and in person.
• Take an empathetic, supportive approach to customers, with the courage to be firm and pragmatic.
• Bring knowledge of lending products, strategies and policies, and banking legislation.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and influence decisions.
• Experience leading or developing others, or readiness for people leadership.
• Show tenacity and adaptability, able to challenge assumptions and see matters through.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex customer strategies from assessment through to outcome with credit, commercial and agribusiness expertise.
• Develop advanced structuring, negotiation and problem‑solving within a specialist team.
• Own strategies from decision to execution, balancing customer outcomes with risk and compliance.
• Lead at least one direct report, developing capability and team culture.
• Engage with customers in financial difficulty with care and consideration.
• Conduct robust financial and credit analysis to identify realistic options.
• Develop and execute strategies spanning rehabilitation, turnaround, restructuring and insolvency if needed.
• Provide credit monitoring, reporting and policy guidance to Risk teams and business partners.
