Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Manager Aboriginal Cultural Capability for First Nations Health at St Vincent’s Public Hospital, Sydney. This permanent, full-time role focuses on leading Aboriginal cultural capability initiatives across the organisation and mentoring the Aboriginal Cultural Capability Facilitator.

Qualifications

• Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
• Hold a tertiary qualification with proven track record leading teams.
• Skilled in designing, managing, and delivering cultural capability initiatives.
• Demonstrated high-level interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to engage with Aboriginal communities and external organisations.
• Leadership focused on mentoring staff and fostering a culturally safe workplace.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Executive Director First Nations Health and work with the L&D Manager to deliver Aboriginal cultural capability initiatives.
• Lead an Aboriginal Cultural Capability Facilitator and mentor staff to enhance workforce capability and wellbeing.
• Design, deliver, evaluate and report cultural capability programs to strengthen cultural safety and inclusivity.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local Aboriginal communities and stakeholders for culturally informed service delivery.
• Influence governance, policies and service models to embed Aboriginal perspectives.
• Produce high-quality reports and briefs for senior leadership and drive continuous improvement.
