Job summary

MARS Recruitment represents a leading Australian M&A advisory team focused on natural resources, with exposure across mining and energy sectors. The role spans sell-side and buy-side engagements, with increasing ownership of live transactions alongside senior bankers.

The Senior Analyst or Associate will help manage processes, build financial models, prepare CIMs and client presentations, and coordinate data rooms while supporting deal origination and portfolio activity.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years’ investment banking experience, ideally within a global bank, boutique or M&A advisory team.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Economics, Business, Law and/or Engineering with high academic results.
• Related postgraduate qualification (or studying towards) preferred.
• Strong technical capability across financial modelling, valuation and transaction analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements, meet tight deadlines and take ownership of deliverables.
• A collaborative and commercially minded approach.
• Postgraduate qualification or progress towards CFA or Master of Applied Finance will be viewed favourably.

Responsibilities

• Managing processes including buyer/seller communication and due diligence
• Building and reviewing financial models, valuations, sensitivities and transaction analyses
• Preparing CIMs, management presentations, pitch materials and other client deliverables
• Coordinating data rooms, diligence trackers and external advisers
• Conducting industry, company and market research to support deal origination
• Supporting Directors with the management and execution across a strong pipeline
