Job summary

Morgan Stanley Australia seeks high-performing Investment Banking Associates based in Melbourne or Sydney to join our M&A practice across Natural Resources, Technology, Media & Telco, and General Industrials.

Successful candidates will bring 3–6 years of relevant investment banking experience, strong execution track records, and the ability to develop client presentations, models and strategic analyses within a dynamic, high-caliber team in Australia.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of relevant investment banking experience in M&A or industry coverage.
• Proven track record of executing complex M&A and advisory transactions.
• Advanced financial modelling, valuation and analysis.
• Strong understanding of accounting and financial statement analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including client-facing materials.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Execute a broad range of M&A and strategic advisory transactions across Australia and the Asia Pacific.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models and valuation analyses.
• Prepare client presentations, strategic reviews, pitch materials and transaction documentation.
• Manage day-to-day execution workstreams with clients, lawyers, accountants and advisers.
• Review and oversee Analysts' work and guide modelling and analyses.
• Support senior bankers in business development and client relationship management.
• Ensure high-quality work within demanding timeframes.
