Job summary

Ararat College in Western Victoria is seeking a Learning Specialist for Literacy to drive a whole-school approach to teaching literacy, using real-time data to elevate staff expertise, and collaborating with the Principal Class Team and PLC Team.

You will lead literacy initiatives, oversee MacqLit and Illuminate programs, develop assessment schedules, and provide professional learning; you will also head the English Faculty and support EAL learners and staff development.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated expert knowledge of the relevant curriculum.
• Demonstrated expertise in high impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation of whole-school improvement strategies related to literacy and assessment.
• Provide professional learning, including developing observation and feedback processes.
• Supervise preservice teachers and mentor coaching staff.
• Model use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Oversee the English Faculty and literacy initiatives (e.g., literacy programs).
