Job summary

Harvey Norman is seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator to manage SAN storage, backup/restore, and monitoring across diverse environments. You will collaborate with IT teams to deliver engineering expertise and BAU support for a range of managed services.

Responsibilities include planning and provisioning Linux systems, ensuring high availability through backups and DR, and driving automation and standardization of processes. Strong scripting and networking skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing and optimizing RHEL and SLES environments across physical and virtual enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and optimise Linux infrastructure performance across physical, virtual, and application environments.
• Plan, deploy, upgrade, and maintain Linux systems, including server provisioning, patching, hardware refreshes, and software lifecycle management.
• Ensure high availability through robust backup, disaster recovery, and system resilience practices.
• Develop, automate, standardize, and document system processes, leveraging scripting and SOE best practices to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with vendors, service providers, development, and operational teams to support system performance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
• Enforce information security, compliance, and governance standards, including incident monitoring, reporting, and participation in after-hours maintenance activities.
