Job summary

Recruit CRM in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on Linux System Administrator/Engineer to manage Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments across production and non-production systems.

You will optimize performance, implement automation with Puppet, Ansible, and RedHat Satellite, and contribute to virtualization, storage, networking, and Azure environments.

This contract role requires 4–8 years of relevant experience and strong problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• 4–8 years hands-on Linux system administration experience (preferably RHEL).
• Deep expertise in performance tuning of OS, kernels, and hardware.
• Experience with automation and configuration management using Puppet, Ansible, and RedHat Satellite.
• Experience in enterprise Linux environments with Centrify, NTP, and related technologies.
• Practical understanding of virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud environments (Azure preferred).
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code principles and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain RHEL systems across production and non-production environments.
• Perform performance tuning of OS, kernels, and server hardware to ensure reliability.
• Manage automation and configuration with RedHat Satellite, Puppet, and Ansible.
• Support enterprise Linux solutions such as Centrify and NTP.
• Conduct day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management for Linux servers.
• Implement IaC solutions using Puppet and Ansible.
• Collaborate with teams on virtualization, networking devices, storage, and Azure environments.
• Ensure compliance with security, operational, and performance standards.
• Participate in on-call rotations and handle escalations as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification.
• Exposure toDevOpsandcloud automationpractices.
• Experience working inlarge-scale enterprise environmentswith hybrid infrastructure.
