Job summary

Southern Rural Water is seeking a dedicated Senior Assessment Officer to join the Customer Experience team on a fixed-term basis until January 2027. You will assess licensing applications, including complex cases, and support the Team Leader by improving processes and ensuring consistent, timely decisions.

As a senior member, you will review recommendations from Assessment Officers, provide guidance, and escalate when needed.

Qualifications

• Administration experience in a similar role.
• Clear communication with customers and staff.
• Ability to interpret and apply SRW policies and guidelines.
• Strong time management to meet deadlines.
• Ability to mentor and support Assessment Officers.

Responsibilities

• Assess licensing applications for regulated districts and unregulated surface water and groundwater, ensuring accuracy and completion within agreed timeframes.
• Case manage and prepare recommendations for decision by the Team Leader Customer Experience and/or Manager Water Licensing, including gathering relevant information and preparing correspondence
• Reviewing recommendations prepared by Assessment Officers to ensure accuracy, consistency and compliance with relevant requirements before they are escalated for a decision.
• Approving licensing applications and information statements in accordance with relevant delegations.
• Helping customers and other staff to understand licensing application requirements and processes.
