Job summary

Kaliba in Sydney, Australia is seeking a backend engineer to design, develop and maintain Java-based applications. You will build secure RESTful APIs and microservices with Spring Boot, and collaborate across engineering, business and delivery teams.

You’ll contribute to technical design, support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment, and participate in banking transformation programs. Experience with OAuth/JWT and Agile teams is essential; React experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Commercial experience with Java, Spring Boot and RESTful APIs.
• Strong API design principles and industry standards.
• Experience with OAuth and JWT for secure APIs.
• CI/CD tooling experience (Jenkins, Bamboo, Bitbucket).
• Agile engineering experience.
• Knowledge of J2EE or Struts is a plus.
• React experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Java-based backend applications.
