Job summary

Kaliba is building a new engineering team in Sydney and seeks experienced Backend / Senior Software Engineers to join a high-performing environment working on complex, high-scale financial technology.

In this role you will design and develop scalable backend systems, own services from design to deployment, and work across distributed workflows. The team values reliability, scalability and strong API integration across global product groups.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial backend software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining complex systems at scale.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture.
• Experience working with cloud infrastructure and modern engineering practices.
• Experience with APIs, asynchronous processing and event-driven systems.
• Strong engineering fundamentals and a focus on reliability, scalability and maintainability.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop highly available, scalable backend systems.
• Own services from system design through to deployment and production.
• Work across complex, distributed systems and business-critical workflows.
• Design resilient architectures and asynchronous services.
• Build APIs and integrate with internal and external systems.
• Work closely with Product, Operations and international engineering teams.
