Job summary

Avocado Consulting is seeking a Senior Java developer to join an enterprise portfolio for a NSW Government client. You will develop and maintain Java applications and backend services, build REST APIs and microservices, and work with Spring Boot in modern development workflows.

You will design scalable, secure solutions, integrate with internal/external systems, work with SQL databases, troubleshoot issues, and participate in code reviews.

Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with full stack Java development (J2EE, Springboot, SOAP, Oracle db, REST, Hibernate).
Experience with NodeJS would also be advantageous.
Experience using OAuth (and SAML) or implementing an identity provider in JAVA applications.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain Java applications and backend services.
Build and integrate REST APIs and microservices.
Work with Spring Boot and modern Java development practices.
Design and implement scalable, secure and high-performing solutions.
Develop integrations with internal and external systems.
Work with relational databases and SQL.
Troubleshoot, test and resolve application issues.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to development standards.
Collaborate with architects, BAs, testers and other delivery teams.
Contribute across the full software development lifecycle.
