Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Senior Industrial Relations Advisor to join our team on a major NSW infrastructure site in Mudgee. The role focuses on union engagement, right of entry, and fostering productive workplace relationships with project leadership and HR teams.

The successful candidate will proactively identify industrial risks, advise leaders, and ensure compliance with the Fair Work Act and Enterprise Agreements, while supporting subcontractor relations and maintaining thorough records.

Qualifications

• Experience as Industrial Relations Advisor or Senior IR Advisor on major construction projects.
• Proven ability managing union engagement, right of entry, disputes and workplace matters.
• Strong knowledge of the Fair Work Act, Enterprise Agreements and union rights.
• Confident engaging with union officials and senior stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Autonomy to work with changing site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary point of contact for union representatives, managing day-to-day union engagement and activity across site.
• Coordinate and manage union right of entry requests, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements and site protocols.
• Provide practical industrial relations advice and guidance to project leadership, supervisors and site management.
• Proactively identify emerging industrial risks, develop mitigation strategies and manage issues before they can escalate.
• Manage and support the resolution of industrial disputes, grievances and workplace issues.
• Monitor compliance with applicable Enterprise Agreements, the Fair Work Act and relevant industrial legislation.
• Support the management of industrial relations matters involving subcontractors and their workforce.
• Maintain accurate records of union interactions, right of entry notices and industrial matters.
• Work closely with the broader HR/IR team to ensure a consistent approach to industrial relations across the project.
