Job summary

Department of Education in Western Australia seeks a Senior Investigator to support the Teacher Registration Board of Western Australia (TRBWA) in investigative capability and discipline processes. The role involves handling sensitive cases and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

The successful candidate will conduct witness interviews (including with children), prepare briefs of evidence for high‑level tribunals, and provide strategic investigative advice to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a visa with work rights for the term of the appointment.
• Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number.
• Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
• Hold a current C class driver’s licence.
• Travel intrastate as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct high‑level, complex and sensitive investigations, including serious misconduct and serious impairment matters, including child protection cases.
• Conduct interviews with witnesses, including children, and prepare comprehensive reports for TRBWA and related bodies.
• Prepare briefs of evidence for presentation at the State Administrative Tribunal, Magistrates Court and TRBWA committees.
• Provide investigative advice to senior stakeholders on complaints investigation, discipline and impairment management.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of strategies, systems and methodologies for investigations and compliance.
