Job summary

ELMO Software is seeking a Senior Internal Communications Lead to shape and deliver our internal comms strategy across Australia and New Zealand. This is a high-impact, 3-month contract role designed to inform, connect and inspire employees during change.

You will work closely with the Executive Leadership Team and SLT to simplify complex information, craft compelling narratives, and ensure clear, consistent messages across channels. Join a collaborative, growth-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in internal, employee, corporate or organizational communications.
• Preferred SaaS/tech industry background with fast-paced software landscape.
• Experience developing communications strategies in complex or changing organizations.
• Strong ability to advise and partner with senior executives and leadership teams.
• Experience designing and facilitating large company-wide events or forums.
• Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills for multiple channels.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver an internal communications strategy aligned to priorities, culture and employee experience.
• Partner with senior leaders to shape plans, narratives, key messages and rhythms.
• Lead communications for town halls, all-hands meetings and leadership forums.
• Create engaging content including executive updates, stories, presentations, and change communication materials.
• Provide coaching and practical resources to ELT and SLT.
• Cascade change stories and improve reach, engagement and understanding.
• Build stronger bottom-up and cross-functional communication channels.
• Coordinate messages with People & Culture, Product, Customer, Sales, Marketing, Technology, Finance.
• Gather employee feedback and sentiment to improve communications.
• Maintain high editorial standards across internal channels.

ELMO is looking for a Senior Internal Communications Lead to shape and deliver our internal communications strategy across Australia and New Zealand.

This is initially a 3-month contract role.

This is a high-impact opportunity to help employees feel informed, connected, included and proud to be part of ELMO. You’ll bring our culture to life through clear, engaging storytelling about our people, products, customer impact, business performance and achievements.

Working closely with the Executive Leadership Team, Senior Leadership Team and teams across ELMO, you’ll make complex information easy to understand, strengthen two-way communication and help leaders communicate with clarity and confidence—particularly during periods of change.

What you’ll do

• Develop and deliver an internal communications strategy aligned to business priorities, culture and the employee experience.


• Partner with senior leaders to shape communication plans, narratives, key messages and communication rhythms.


• Lead communications for town halls, all-hands meetings, leadership forums and other significant employee events.


• Create engaging content including executive updates, employee stories, presentations, videos, FAQs, leader talking points and change communication materials.


• Support the ELT and SLT with practical coaching, frameworks and communication packs.


• Help cascade ELMO’s change story so employees understand what is changing, why it matters and what it means for their team and role.


• Build stronger bottom-up and cross-functional communication channels so employees can share feedback, ideas, questions and stories.


• Work with People & Culture, Product, Customer, Sales, Marketing, Technology, Finance and other teams to coordinate messages and avoid communication gaps.


• Gather employee feedback and sentiment, using insights to improve reach, engagement, understanding and the overall employee experience.


• Maintain high standards of editorial quality, accuracy, accessibility, inclusion and consistency across internal channels.

What you’ll bring

• Significant experience in internal, employee, corporate or organisational communications.


• Previous experience working within the SaaS or technology industry is preferred, with a strong understanding of the fast-paced software landscape.


• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering communications strategies in a complex or changing organisation.


• Strong experience advising and partnering with senior executives and leadership teams.


• Experience designing and facilitating town halls, all-hands meetings, leadership events or similar company-wide forums.


• Exceptional writing, editing and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences and channels.


• Strong presentation, event-content and narrative-development skills.


• Excellent stakeholder management, judgement and discretion when handling sensitive or commercially important information.


• A proactive, organised and practical approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.


• A genuine interest in people, culture, business performance, products and the stories that connect them.
