Job summary

Auto & General’s Group Internal Audit team in Brisbane seeks an experienced Internal Auditor to support end-to-end audits, strengthen the control environment and provide independent assurance to the Board and Management.

You will lead audits across financial, operational and regulatory areas, employ data analytics, prepare clear audit reports, and work with business units to implement corrective actions. The role offers hybrid work options in Toowong and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Social Sciences or a related field.
• Progress towards recognised professional certification (CA/CPA/CIA/CISA) is desirable.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in internal auditing or a related field.
• Strong analytical and report-writing abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute internal audits across diverse business functions, including financial, operational and compliance areas, following the annual audit plan.
• Utilise data analytics techniques to identify trends, anomalies and potential risks.
• Perform audit testing procedures and prepare high-quality workpapers.
• Prepare clear audit reports with root-cause analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Support the risk management framework by assessing compliance with laws, regulations and internal policies.
• Communicate findings with stakeholders and collaborate with units to implement corrective actions.
