Job summary

Inscape in Sydney is seeking a confident Senior Designer to shape our growth in workplace design. You will lead projects from briefing to delivery, guiding the team and contributing to design excellence.

Based in our CBD studio, you’ll drive creative direction, engage clients, and work with consultants and trades to deliver buildable, cost-aware solutions while maintaining high design intent.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience in interior design, with a workplace focus.
• Strong space-planning capability and ability to lead design teams.
• Excellent client relationship and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead workplace design projects from briefing through delivery.
• Develop and drive creative direction and design narratives.
• Collaborate with consultants, suppliers and trades to ensure buildable, on-time outcomes.
• Mentor junior designers and contribute to a positive studio culture.
• Engage with clients to present ideas and manage design delivery.

What you’ll do

Lead Projects with Confidence

Own workplace design projects from briefing through to delivery. You’ll plan, manage, and execute every stage with clarity, independence, and strong design intent. This will mean guiding our team, and also getting on the tools yourself.

Drive Creative Direction

Develop compelling concepts, shape design narratives, and champion innovative thinking across the studio. You’ll set the tone for design excellence.

Deliver Smart, Buildable Solutions

Collaborate closely with consultants, suppliers, and trades to ensure every design is efficient, buildable, and aligned with budget and programme, without compromising creativity.

Elevate the Studio

Support and mentor junior designers, share knowledge generously, and contribute to a positive, high‑performing culture where teamwork always comes first.

Strengthen Client Relationships

Engage confidently with clients, present ideas clearly, and guide them through the design journey. Your understanding of cost, materials, and delivery will help ensure great outcomes every time.

What you’ll bring

• 6+ years’ experience in interior design, with a strong focus on workplace
• Proficiency in Revit and strong space‑planning capability
• Confident use of InDesign for presentations and concept development
• A collaborative, team‑first mindset — you lift others up and love working together
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build trust with clients and consultants
• A practical understanding of materials, costs, and project delivery
• The confidence to lead, the curiosity to innovate, and the drive to keep improving
