With a rich history spanning 30 years and projects delivered across Australia and New Zealand, they believe in doing business differently.

They have redefined the traditional workplace design and build process to offer an exceptional client experience - delivering tailored, high-performing spaces on time and on budget. Their solution-led model offers a streamlined, integrated approach with flexibility, control, and a single point of accountability.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project pipeline, we are currently seeking a talented, strategic, and driven Senior Interior Designer to join their growing team in Melbourne.

About the Role:
  • End-to-End Leadership: Direct the full lifecycle of complex commercial projects alongside integrated in-house project and construction management teams.
  • Mentorship & Growth: Lead, mentor, and elevate junior to mid-level designers while taking direct ownership of key client accounts and flagship projects.
  • Vibrant Culture: Join a supportive, highly collaborative culture where fresh ideas, innovation, and continuous improvement are celebrated.
  • Truly Design-Led: You will drive the concept, planning, design, and execution for the creation and refurbishment of dynamic commercial spaces. Working closely with executive leadership, estimators, and project managers, you will lead project design across all phases, ensuring flawless alignment with client expectations, spatial briefs, site buildability, and budgetary parameters.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design & Project Leadership: Drive the full design lifecycle from high-level concept creation through to comprehensive construction documentation and final delivery.
  • Technical Excellence & Oversight: Oversee and utilise industry-standard design tools (Revit, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite) to deliver spatial layouts, high-end visuals, 3D renders, and technical construction packages.
  • Material & Sustainability Strategy: Research, specify, and sign off on materials, finishes, furniture, and fittings aligned with functional requirements and sustainability standards (e.g., Green Star, WELL, NABERS).
  • Site & Construction Coordination: Lead site measurements, spatial/furniture audits, and periodic site inspections to ensure design integrity, quality control, and buildability alongside construction teams.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management: Lead client presentations, design workshops, and briefing sessions, establishing strong, trusted relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal partners.
  • Commercial & Budget Alignment: Partner with estimating and project management teams to ensure project scopes, delivery timelines, and budget parameters are strictly met.
About You:
  • Experience: 6+ years of proven experience within commercial workplace design and build environments, with a strong portfolio of delivered projects.
  • Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in producing accurate technical documentation, detail drawings, and renderings using Revit (essential).
  • Strategic Design Thinking: Exceptional spatial awareness, strong conceptual design capabilities, and deep insights into modern workplace trends and future-of-work strategies.
  • Regulatory & Industry Expertise: In-depth understanding of relevant building codes (BCA/NCC), compliance standards, and construction methodologies.
  • Leadership & Communication: Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, with the confidence to present to key client stakeholders, manage multi-disciplinary teams, and mentor junior staff.
