Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead the technical delivery of complex interior projects in Sydney. The role requires deep design acumen, collaboration with architects and engineers, and ownership of interior design across all project phases.

You will deliver detailed drawings, schedules and specifications, mentor junior staff, and engage with clients to ensure design integrity and project success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or related discipline.
• Typically 8+ years’ experience in interior design including design development and detailed documentation.
• Proven ability to produce drawings, schedules and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of interior design workflows, codes and construction methods.
• Advanced proficiency in Revit (required), SketchUp and Enscape (required).
• Experience with Photoshop and InDesign (required).
• Familiarity with Rhino and Grasshopper (advantageous).
• Australian Citizenship and eligibility for Baseline or higher Australian Government security clearance (advantageous).

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of interior projects across all phases.
• Develop innovative design concepts and ensure alignment with project vision and technical requirements.
• Produce and oversee detailed design documentation and specifications.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers and disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to knowledge sharing.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development.
• Represent HDR brand in project teams and client engagements.
