Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and Control Engineer to design, implement, and maintain control systems for industrial processes near Queenstown. You will work on DCS/SCADA configurations, instrument calibration, and process optimization.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Chemical Engineering and at least six years in the field, with strong analytics and teamwork.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Chemical Engineering or related field.
Minimum 6 years experience in instrumentation and control engineering.
Experience with DCS, PLC and SCADA configuration and programming.
Strong knowledge of process control theory, loop tuning, and valve sizing.
Experience with sensors and communication protocols (HART, Modbus).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Design, configure, and commission process control systems, including DCS and SCADA.
Select, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, such as sensors, transmitters, and control valves.
Develop and implement control strategies to optimize process efficiency, quality, and safety.
Troubleshoot instrumentation and control system issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
Collaborate with process engineers and operations teams to understand control requirements and implement improvements.
Ensure adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices in instrumentation and control engineering.
