Job summary

The Network is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support a government department in maintaining and optimising its enterprise infrastructure, including VMware, Windows Server, Commvault, and hybrid cloud.

This hands-on role requires NV1 clearance, Canberra-based, a 12-month contract with potential extension, and a focus on automation, security, and reliable infrastructure services.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with enterprise infrastructure administration.
• Strong VMware knowledge including vSphere, ESXi and vCenter.
• Experience with Commvault backup and recovery.
• Automation and IaC using scripting (PowerShell).
• Security, performance, reliability improvements across infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain and troubleshoot VMware virtualisation environments (vSphere/ESXi/vCenter).
• Administer Windows Server environments (Active Directory, patching, maintenance).
• Support enterprise backup and recovery with Commvault, ensuring resilience.
• Automate tasks using PowerShell and IaC practices.
• Investigate issues, implement security improvements and optimise performance.
