Job summary

Hitech Asia Pacific is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Automation Specialist) to design, deploy and support enterprise-scale container platforms and private cloud infrastructure in Australia. You will work with Red Hat OpenShift, OpenStack, automation and observability tools across Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne with hybrid working arrangements.

Initial 12-month contract with potential extension.

Qualifications

• Design, deploy and support OpenShift and OpenStack clusters in private clouds.
• Implement observability, telemetry pipelines and monitoring solutions.
• Develop IaC, automation playbooks and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Automate cluster provisioning, scaling and lifecycle management.
• Experience with Linux administration and cloud provisioning.
• Ability to obtain NV1 security clearance.

Responsibilities

A high-profile Federal Government Department is seeking an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Automation Specialist) to design, deploy and support enterprise-scale container platforms and private cloud infrastructure. You will work across Red Hat OpenShift, OpenStack, infrastructure automation and observability solutions, helping deliver reliable, scalable and efficient technology platforms. The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be offered an initial 12-month contract with the view to be extended, based in Brisbane, Canberra or Melbourne, with hybrid working arrangements subject to approval.

The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:

Design, deploy and automate enterprise Red Hat OpenShift and OpenStack clusters across private cloud environments.

Implement observability and monitoring solutions, including telemetry pipelines, collectors and infrastructure performance monitoring.

Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation playbooks and CI/CD deployment pipelines.

Automate cluster provisioning, scaling and lifecycle management to improve platform reliability and operational efficiency.

The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will have experience in the following:

Enterprise container orchestration using Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes, or private cloud platforms such as OpenStack.

Implementing telemetry, observability, monitoring and instrumentation across complex infrastructure environments.

Ansible, GitOps, ArgoCD, Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD automation.

Linux administration, cloud infrastructure provisioning and enterprise platform management.

Candidates must be able to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) security clearance.
