Job summary

Leaders IT is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to design, automate, and support cloud infrastructure and deployment platforms. You will work with developers, architects, and stakeholders to mature DevOps practices and optimise cloud environments across multiple initiatives.

In this hybrid role, you will build CI/CD pipelines, implement Terraform IaC, manage Docker/Kubernetes production environments, and lead technical work within Agile teams while ensuring documentation and best practices are

Qualifications

• Extensive AWS and/or Azure cloud experience.
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD implementation experience.
• Expertise with GitLab, Artifactory and Jira.
• Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure as Code capability.
• Strong Git and version control experience.
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
• Programming skills in Python, Golang and/or JavaScript.
• Hands-on Docker and Kubernetes experience in production environments.

Location: Multiple locations - QLD, ACT, VIC, NSW, SA

Work arrangements: Hybrid

Rate: Market rate

Contract Length: 12 months + 12 month extension

The Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, automating and supporting cloud infrastructure and deployment platforms. Working closely with developers, architects and business stakeholders, you'll help drive DevOps maturity, infrastructure automation and cloud optimisation across multiple initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, deploying and supporting cloud infrastructure solutions
• Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling
• Developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform
• Managing containerised environments and Kubernetes platforms
• Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure solutions
• Supporting Agile project teams and providing technical leadership
• Ensuring solutions are documented, supportable and aligned to best practice

About You

To be successful, you will demonstrate strong experience across cloud engineering, automation and modern DevOps practices.

Essential Experience

• Extensive AWS and/or Azure cloud experience
• Strong DevOps and CI/CD implementation experience
• Expertise with GitLab, Artifactory and Jira
• Advanced Terraform and Infrastructure as Code capability
• Strong Git and version control experience
• Experience working within Agile delivery teams

Highly Regarded

• Experience administering both AWS and Azure environments
• HashiCorp Vault experience
• Experience implementing intelligent CI/CD automation or AI-driven operational tooling
• Previous Federal Government or large enterprise experience

Requirements

• Australian Citizenship is mandatory
• Ability to obtain a Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Security Clearance
• Ability to work in a hybrid environment with a minimum of three days onsite per week
