Job summary

Orange City Council seeks an Engineering Design Coordinator to lead delivery of civil engineering designs for Council infrastructure. You will guide the Design team, coordinate consultants and engage with developers and the community.

You will drive concept to approvals and construction standards, applying Australian Standards and Council codes to deliver practical, cost-effective solutions for a growing city with strong leadership expectations.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering with professional recognition is required.
• Knowledge of stormwater modelling, legislation, standards and technical requirements.
• Proven leadership and supervisory capability with coaching and development skills.
• Strong communication across consultants, developers, colleagues and the community.
• Strategic thinking, sound judgement and practical problem solving.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills with digital capability.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Design team, create purpose and strong performance.
• Deliver engineering designs per Australian Standards and Council codes.
• Coordinate consultants to deliver timely, cost-effective outcomes.
• Provide strategic technical advice, computations, estimates and specs.
• Collaborate with developers on assessment and approvals of plans.
• Investigate infrastructure, drainage, flooding and traffic matters.
• Manage inspections, construction standards, risk and WHS compliance.
