Job summary

The University of Queensland is seeking a Senior Community Engagement Officer for the RISE research program, based in Rockhampton. The role focuses on building trusted relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and supporting culturally informed research activities.

Open to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates; 80–100% FTE, fixed-term up to 2 years, base salary AU$97,269–$104,349 plus 17% super. Travel between communities is required; a vehicle is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in research translation or stakeholder engagement within healthcare research or services.
• Delivery of communication outcomes across online platforms, publications and stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to travel regularly between communities; a vehicle is provided for approved travel.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate engagement with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations and regional communities.
• Build trusted relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and health partners across Central Queensland.
• Develop accessible health messages and content for websites, brochures, newsletters, and social media.
• Support stakeholder events and maintain strategic relationships with organisations involved in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and STI communication.
