Job summary

The University of Queensland is seeking a Senior Project Officer based at the Moreton Bay Research Station, Minjerribah. The role acts as a vital interface between Quandamooka organisations, Elders and community members, and UQ researchers to support Indigenous-led research on Country.

The position is full-time and fixed-term for up to two years, with a base salary in the range $97,268 - $104,348 plus 17% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated capability via relevant study or community-based experience in environmental, research or Country-focused projects.
• Strong understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, histories, and community dynamics and ability to work with cultural protocols.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support multiple community-led research projects, including planning, scheduling, milestone tracking and reporting.
• Facilitate culturally safe engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, Elders and community members through meetings, workshops and on-Country activities.
• Collate and support analysis of project data, contributing to reports, maps and knowledge products for community needs.
• Support clear communication and knowledge sharing between community partners and university researchers, including returning findings in culturally appropriate formats.
