Job summary

University of Queensland's First Nations Cancer and Wellbeing Research team seeks a community engagement professional to build relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and organisations, and to translate research into meaningful impact.

Based at Herston Campus, this full-time fixed-term role (up to 2 years, HEW Level 6) requires strong stakeholder engagement, clear written communication, and coordination across projects; Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander candidates

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with diverse communities.
• Experience engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
• Experience in stakeholder or community engagement, especially in health or research settings.
• Well-developed written communication to translate complex info for varied audiences.
• Ability to coordinate activities and manage competing priorities with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain respectful relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and stakeholders.
• Support the Cancer Ambassador program and plan stakeholder/consumer events.
• Collaborate with research teams to strengthen partnerships and engagement.
• Develop communication strategies and produce accessible written and visual content.
