Job summary

Australian Prudential Regulation Authority is seeking a Principal Engineer – Identity & Access Management to lead design, implementation and operation of enterprise IAM across on-premises and cloud environments. You will govern identity lifecycles, authentication, access control and privileged access while advising senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience managing enterprise Identity and Access Management environments.
• Strong expertise across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 in hybrid identities.
• Hands-on experience with IAM technologies including SSO, MFA, Conditional Access and passwordless authentication.
• Experience administering identity governance, access reviews and RBAC.
• Proven experience with Privileged Access Management solutions such as CyberArk and Microsoft PIM.
• Strong PowerShell scripting and automation capabilities.
• Knowledge of Zero Trust principles and least privilege access models.
• Experience supporting identity services across Azure, Microsoft 365 and hybrid cloud environments.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in complex enterprise environments.
• Understanding of ACSC Essential Eight, ISM and PSPF frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement and support enterprise IAM services across AD, Entra ID, M365 and Azure.
• Manage identity lifecycle services and JML processes.
• Deliver modern authentication capabilities including SSO, MFA and passwordless auth.
• Administer identity governance, access reviews, RBAC and access certification.
• Manage privileged access solutions including CyberArk and PIM.
• Support workforce, privileged and non-human identities including AI agent identities.
• Integrate business applications with enterprise authentication services.
• Drive automation across identity provisioning and access management processes.
• Provide expert Level 3 support and technical leadership for IAM issues.
• Contribute to technology projects and security initiatives strengthening APRA's environment.
