Job summary

Design & Build Recruitment – Melbourne VIC is seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager to lead major commercial mechanical packages for a Tier 1 contractor in Melbourne. You will own end-to-end delivery, manage budgets, procurement and risk, and coordinate multiple stakeholders across design teams, subcontractors and suppliers.

The role offers exposure to high-value projects, strong leadership, and clear career progression within a well-established project delivery group.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Project Manager within commercial HVAC or mechanical services.
• Strong track record delivering mechanical packages on major projects.
• Experience managing budgets, procurement, variations and programmes.
• Solid understanding of HVAC systems, installation and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end delivery of commercial HVAC and mechanical services projects from design to commissioning and handover.
• Own project budgets, forecasting, procurement, variations and overall commercial performance.
• Coordinate design consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and site teams to meet milestones.
• Develop and maintain project programmes and identify risks with effective mitigations.
• Oversee installation of mechanical services ensuring compliance with standards, safety, and quality.
• Manage client and builder relationships as the main project contact.
• Lead project meetings and provide regular progress reporting on programme and cost.
• Drive a strong safety culture and ensure high-quality outcomes.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, defects management and final handover.
