New Venture Recruitment is seeking a Senior HVAC Draftsperson in Sydney to lead the production and coordination of detailed HVAC workshop drawings for major projects. Reporting to the NSW Drawing Office Manager, you will mentor Junior and Intermediate Drafters, coordinate with structural, architectural and electrical teams, and ensure designs meet project standards and timelines.

This Tier I HVAC Contractor offers exposure to hyperscale data centres and commercial developments with growth

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience producing detailed HVAC workshop drawings.
• Experience in Mechanical Contractor environments.
• Proven ability to produce fabrication and installation drawings.
• Strong HVAC construction and coordination knowledge.
• Experience leading meetings with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead the production and coordination of detailed HVAC workshop drawings
• Produce accurate fabrication and installation drawings for major projects
• Coordinate HVAC services with structural, architectural, electrical and other building services
• Review design documentation and identify potential clashes or constructability issues
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Managers and the broader project team
• Lead and participate in coordination meetings where required
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Junior and Intermediate Drafters
• Manage drafting priorities and assist with project deadlines
• Ensure drawings are produced in accordance with project requirements, standards and company procedures

Take the next step in your drafting career with a leading Tier I HVAC Contractor working on some of Sydney's most significant projects.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior HVAC Draftsperson to join an established NSW drawing office, with a focus on the coordination and production of detailed HVAC workshop drawings across major projects.

With a strong pipeline of work across Hyperscale Data Centres, major commercial developments and other complex projects, this is an opportunity to work on technically challenging projects while taking on greater responsibility within a high-performing drafting team.

The Role

Reporting directly to the NSW Drawing Office Manager, you will play a key role in the delivery of detailed HVAC documentation while providing leadership and guidance to a small team of Junior and Intermediate Drafters.

You’ll be responsible for ensuring drawings are accurately coordinated, produced to a high standard and aligned with the requirements of the project delivery team and site.

The role will also provide plenty of scope for growth and development, with the opportunity to take on increasing responsibility as the business and project portfolio continues to grow.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:

• 5+ years' experience producing detailed HVAC workshop drawings
• Strong experience working within a Mechanical Contractor environment
• Proven experience producing detailed fabrication and installation drawings
• Strong understanding of HVAC construction, installation and coordination
• Experience working on large-scale commercial, data centre or similarly complex projects
• The confidence to lead coordination meetings and liaise with project stakeholders
• Strong attention to detail and a practical understanding of how HVAC systems are delivered on site
• Experience mentoring or providing guidance to junior drafting staff
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A proactive approach to identifying and resolving coordination issues
