Job summary

SEEK is seeking an experienced Senior HVAC Engineer in Melbourne to lead design and delivery of advanced HVAC systems for commercial buildings. You will oversee a small team of engineers and draftspeople, ensuring compliance with NCC and AS/NZS standards and driving energy-efficient solutions.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will coordinate with builders, contractors and multi-disciplinary teams to ensure integration and quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years' experience in HVAC design and engineering.
• Expertise in chiller systems, boilers, ventilation and controls.
• Knowledge of Australian building codes and NCC/AS/NZS standards.
• Registration or eligibility for Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop HVAC systems for commercial buildings in line with codes and energy standards.
• Lead technical evaluation, troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions.
• Collaborate with builders, contractors and other engineering disciplines for integration.
• Supervise and mentor junior staff, ensuring quality and development.
• Prepare specifications, drawings and documentation for HVAC projects.
• Perform energy audits and optimization to reduce costs.
• Stay current with HVAC technologies and best practices; advise on improvements.
• Liaise with clients to meet requirements within budget.
