Job summary

HP Recruitment is seeking a Technical Director for Secondary & Protection in Sydney or Melbourne. You will drive technical direction across HV substation design and grid-scale projects, mentoring engineers and shaping standards at a national level.

You will influence major power engineering programs, lead complex reviews, and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to ensure delivery excellence and career growth for engineers.

Qualifications

• Strong electrical engineering background with HV secondary systems and protection.
• Experience leading complex substation design and technical assurance.
• Ability to mentor engineers and work with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Exposure to IEC 61850, relay settings, SCADA integration and high voltage networks is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Act as a senior technical authority across Secondary Systems, Protection & Control, SCADA, automation and substation design.
• Lead technical reviews and complex design packages across feasibility, concept, detailed design, construction support and commissioning.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with clients and other disciplines on major project delivery.
