Job summary

NEN Consulting in Melbourne CBD is seeking an Electrical HV Engineer to lead HV network design across major infrastructure projects. You will own transformer specification and primary substation design, from design through commissioning, reporting to the Engineering Manager and collaborating with senior engineers, project managers and clients.

The role requires hands-on delivery, adherence to codes, and a proactive, analytical mindset in dynamic project environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) required.
• CPEng or eligibility (NER/RPEV) preferred.
• 5+ years' experience in electrical engineering and HV network design.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and review HV electrical networks, transformers and substation layouts.
• Prepare engineering designs, calculations and specifications to relevant codes and standards.
• Manage assigned work packages from design through to commissioning.
• Support project planning, budgeting and technical risk management.
• Provide technical input into tenders and fee proposals.
• Liaise with clients, contractors and internal teams.
