Job summary

UGL – Senior Electrical Engineer role based in North Sydney, focusing on HV primary design and power system studies for transmission lines and substations. You will produce and check deliverables, coordinate across disciplines, and mentor engineers, with potential to lead design packages.

You will join a team that delivers critical energy infrastructure across Australia, working with major network providers while advancing your career through leadership opportunities and development programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with Engineers Australia membership eligibility.
• Minimum six years’ experience in HV power system design or studies.
• Experience across earthing, low-frequency induction, EMF, insulation coordination, corona and power system analysis.
• Proficiency with EMT/PSCAD and PSS/E or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Deliver HV primary design and power system studies for transmission line and substation projects.
• Produce and check design deliverables and technical reports.
• Coordinate interfaces across engineering disciplines and with clients.
• Lead Design Package Leader duties when appointed.
• Liaise with network providers and support tendering and business development.
