Job summary

UGL is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer, Primary Systems to join its Perth-based Utilities engineering team on a permanent full-time basis. This role focuses on producing design deliverables for high voltage power systems and coordinating with other disciplines to meet project requirements.

You will support detailed design, checking, and documentation across HV power systems, including substation configurations, busbars, clearances, earthing and protection.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or equivalent, acceptable for Engineers Australia member grade.
• Minimum of 3 years experience designing or maintaining high voltage power systems for large industrial plants.
• Ability to interface with substation equipment design and CAD draughtspersons to optimise outputs.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work in a team and also independently when required.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed electrical design deliverables for primary systems with guidance from senior staff.
• Support design checking to ensure technical accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Coordinate design interfaces with drafting and other disciplines for timely drawing delivery.
• Monitor progress against design schedules and project delivery requirements.
• Provide engineering advice and technical support to construction, tendering and operations teams.
• Assist with inspection/test documentation, manuals, reports and procedures.
• Maintain safe working practices and comply with HSSE, quality and regulatory procedures.
