McCosker Contracting are seeking a Senior HSE Compliance Officer in the Gladstone Region to support the development and implementation of safety and quality procedures across project sites. You will engage with site leaders and workers to enforce McCosker standards for safe performance, drive risk management and promote a productive work culture while meeting project goals.

Senior HSE Compliance Officer - Gladstone, QLD

McCosker Contracting are seeking applications from Senior HSE Compliance Officers in the Gladstone Region.

In this position you will work individually and in a team environment to support, assist to develop and implement approved procedures and documentation of safety and quality programs to provide continuous improvement in line with State and National legislative requirements.

This position may be required to travel and work on various project sites, where we operate, to support the successful delivery of project and Company goals.

The HSE Department is responsible to connect with the business to manage, develop and implement clear safety practices for our people to work under, while supporting the business to achieve operational and project goals. As a HSE Compliance Officer you will be responsible for engaging with site leaders, the workforce and other key stakeholders to enforce McCosker standards for safe employee performance and promoting a safe and productive work culture, while maintaining a positive impact on the community in which we operate.

This position will:

• Manage risk and drive a positive safety culture
• Provide HSE supervision of operations to meet project deliverables
• Monitor and manage compliance with safety processes
• Assist to provide rehabilitation services for employees returning to the workforce
• Participate in policies and procedures, including work health and safety

To be successful you will have:

• Occupational Health and Safety Qualifications (Certificate IV in Workplace Health and Safety as a minimum)
• Open Drivers Licence
• General Construction Induction (white card)
• Experience in Workplace Health and Safety Advisory or similar role/s
• Strong knowledge of the workplace health and safety framework, including legislation and best practice guides
• Comprehensive experience in procedure writing and incident investigation procedures
• Well developed written and communication skills
• Knowledge of the civil construction industry (desirable)
• Able to develop, implement, and evaluate high quality programs
