Job summary

The Australian Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Agency (ARPANSA) is seeking an experienced Senior HR & Payroll Coordinator to manage day-to-day payroll operations and provide workforce reporting across the employee lifecycle. You will coordinate pay requests, ensure accuracy, and advise employees and managers on pay and conditions in line with the ARPANSA Enterprise Agreement.

You will work within a small, customer-focused HR team, handling onboarding, offboarding, and lifecycle

Qualifications

• Experience delivering payroll services, preferably in the public sector or complex environments.
• Ability to interpret APS employment frameworks, policies and enterprise agreements.
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills for workforce information.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day payroll operations and fortnightly pay run with service quality and accuracy.
• Provide advice to employees and managers on pay and conditions; conduct QA checks.
• Perform reconciliations, audits and compliance activities for payments and entitlements.
• Investigate payroll enquiries and resolve data/system issues with Aurion.
• Maintain payroll and employee data; support system configuration and upgrades.
• Prepare workforce reports to inform management, planning and audits.
• Coordinate onboarding, offboarding, movements and lifecycle administration.
• Support return-to-work, workers’ compensation and policy updates.
• Collaborate across HR to ensure current policies and services.
